PRESENTATION: " CORRADO   GIUSPINO"

Corrado Giuspino is a jewellery designer and producer. His first collection, in 2008, immediately caught the attention of the international clientele of the Costa Smeralda, where he lives and works. A graduate of the Accademy of Costume and Design, Rome, Corrado’s influnces are the ‘20s, ‘30s and ‘40s, and the Orient, where he often travels to source pearls, jade, lacquer, onyx, and precious and semi-precious stones. His collections are often inspired by the decisive lines of Decò. He mixes the colours of the stones in ever new combinations, often using grey as a base to emphasise and refine the other tones. Corrado’s work is contemporary – jewellery which leaves room for the interpretation and creativity of the women who wear it. Every piece is unique and hand-made.

Designed as a rivière of twenty-four cushion-shaped rubies alternating with twenty-four similarly shaped diamonds, mounted in silver and gold, accompanied by the original worksheet listing the weights of the stones and stating that four rubies and four diamonds were added to lengthen the original necklace on 24th October 1884. ~ Sotheby’s.

The Rockefeller Sapphire is a 62.02-carat, rectangular step-cut, internally flawless, cornflower blue sapphire of Burmese origin, with a rich highly saturated intense blue color, so characteristic of Burmese sapphires. The fine brilliant deep-blue colour combined with the good clarity and transparency of the stone had made this unique sapphire the most expensive sapphire in the world.
